INCI:Â Brassica Oleracea Italica Seed Oil

This unrefined oil has a golden orange colour and is cold pressed from the seeds. It is very stable and easily absorbed into the skin. Used in skin and hair preparations, it has excellent softening and conditioning properties, without leaving a greasy feel.
It has a very unique composition, being very rich in Erucic acid (up to 50%) and this can give it a silicone-like characteristic, so is useful in hair products as it helps to add lustre and control frizz without weighing the hair down. In addition to this, because it absorbs so readily into the skin, it is favoured in formulations to help reduce the oily after-feel of a product and improve skin feel.
It is also rich in vitamin A (retinol), well documented for the promotion of healthy skin cells and glowing complexion.
It may also useful for helping to reduce inflammation and helping to calm irritation, thanks to it being rich in another beneficial fatty acid, arachidonic acid.
It is an excellent choice for dry and mature skin, due to it's ability to enhance hydration but equally, its light texture and non-greasy feel is an excellent choice for use in products for oily skin /scalp.
