Calendula Oil

Calendula – Calendula Officinalis Oil (infused in sunflower oil at a 1:5 ratio)

Calendula has been used for centuries in helping to heal wounds and reduce inflammation.  The flower heads of the calendula contain too small an amount of essential oil to make distillation viable, so the plant is macerated instead (plant material is placed in a vat of oil and agitated over days or weeks.  The oil acts as a solvent to draw the essential oils and other active plant molecules from the material.  The infused oil is then filtered).

Excellent addition to formulations for dry, chapped and inflamed skin.  Also good for broken veins, rashes and dry eczema.  Use in healing creams, balms, lotions and massage etc… between 5-10%
