Vegatable squalane is most often derived from olive oil and is an excellent and renowned addition to skin care products.  It is said to be a natural moisturiser as it both helps to reduce water loss from the skin as well as act as humectant.  It is a key ingredient in many skin and hair care products, especially those designed for dry, dehydrated and ageing skin.
