Soya Oil - Glycine Soja |
Glycine soja, the wild soybean, is found in northern, northeastern and central China, and adjacent areas of the former USSR, Korea, Taiwan and Japan. It is produced by cracking the soybeans, adjusting their moisture content, rolling them into flakes and solvent extracting with commercial hexane. The oil is then refined, blended for different applications, and, sometimes, hydrogenated. As soybeans contain no starch, they are a good source of protein for diabetics. Soybean oil is also used commercially in the manufacture of glycerin, paints, soaps, rubber substitutes, plastics, printing ink and other products. It contains around 60% polyunsaturated fatty acids and high levels of vitamin E. Use in bath products, creams, lotions, balms and soaps. |
